Part-Time Strength Coach / Trainer (NYC)

The immediate need is for a strength coach who has morning and evening availability and who has experience coaching one a 1-to-1 and small group (2-4 clients) level, or both. We offer small group, individualized coaching sessions in which our clients train with a coach alongside 2-3 other clients, in a dynamic and community-based coaching sessions. Every client has their own individualized training program developed by our coaches, in which the coaches then facilitate the performance and coaching of clients in designated time offerings.

We are looking for trainers with unique skills and diverse backgrounds and experiences. At J2FIT Strength and Conditioning, we emphasize both the science and the art of training. This requires both depth and breadth of understanding when it comes to programming, exercise science, injury prevention, nutrition, therapeutic modalities and integration of outside services.

This position is for someone who is seeking the perfect environment in which they can master their trade while building a steady client base and a viable career in the fitness industry.

  • 2-3 year minimum of personal training or small group coaching experience

  • Nationally recognized certification; ACE, NASM, ACSM (obtained or in the process of obtaining)

  • Current CPR and AED certification

  • Must reside within NYC

  • Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, or Kinesiology - Preferred but not required

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) - Preferred but not required


Strength and Conditioning Intern (Cincinnati)

An internship at J2FIT Strength and Conditioning will present you with the opportunity to experience hands-on, individualized coaching with general population and varying degrees of athletes, every day. Each intern will have the chance to coach youth athletes and adults. This will give you the ability to learn the art of coaching and gain a ton of experience in respect to goal setting, sports performance coaching, and fitness training. Interns will implement a comprehensive athletic performance and general fitness enhancement program. That comprehensive program includes J2FIT Strength and Conditioning Coach training, curriculum dedicated to building proficiency in athletic training techniques (which includes: Speed, Strength, Power, Flexibility, Mobility and Injury Prevention), program development, business marketing and skills, nutrition coaching, goal setting, and more. Interns will be required to participate in group training, observe coaches, and participate in coaching as part of their training. Once the internship program is complete, non-certified interns will be encouraged to sit for their NSCA-CSCS certification. All participants who have received their CSCS will have an opportunity for positions within J2FIT Strength and Conditioning.
